This organization promotes environmental sustainability through green energy solutions while providing another way for non-profits to cut costs. The team is working on business model formulation and advertisement implementation research.

Ed Catalyst 

A company that seeks to quantify the benefits of Catholic education and turn that data into a resource for investors, specifically ones that invest in education. The team is working on conducting research in this field, along with creating a website for the company..

BDW Biotech 

A biotechnology company that makes probiotics that are more effective and therapeutic in their nature, as well as more economically viable. There are three products of the company: AMProBiotics, which is intended to replace antibiotics in livestock, ProBio-Splash, a supplement for pets, and the BDW Blog, a platform to discuss new inventions within the field. The team is working on technical marketing and law research, along with advertisement implementation research.

Fasion Empowers

A start-up textile company that makes high quality dresses by employing Nicaraguan women as artisans, at a living wage. The team is working in multiple areas of the business, especially in regard to formal business planning and marketing research.

The Soap Project

Founded by a current Notre Dame sophomore, Alexis Doyle, this social enterprise seeks to eradicate parasite infections through the manufacturing of hand crafted soap, in the Palajunoj Valley of Guatemala. This initiative intends to employ the local women at a living wage as well as teach the health benefits of soap, hoping to have a widespread positive effect on health. The team is working on formal business planning as well as grant research. Alexis conducted market research this past Spring Break and said, “It couldn’t have gone better!”

Social Enterprise Generator

To create a start-up social enterprise by empowering an undergraduate student’s idea and providing them with the relevant resources and mentorship needed to transform the idea into a reality. This semester, the project is centered on affordable healthcare opportunities in Kenya.

Unreasonable Capital 

Pitch impact investments to the two managing partners at Unreasonable Capital. This up-and-coming impact investing firm is associated with Unreasonable Institute, a wildly successful social enterprise incubator. Unreasonable Capital “invest into for-profit companies across emerging markets focused on issues related to endemic poverty: working in healthcare, education, clean-energy, and financial inclusion.”

Irish Angels 

Conduct further due diligence on SustainU for the Irish Angels. SustainU is a clothing company that uses 100% recycled material and employees exclusively from the U.S. Fun fact: using recycled cotton over conventional cotton saves around 712 gallons of water per shirt.

Conduct further due diligence on KadAfrica, a budding social enterprise that “Seeks to reinvigorate commercial fruit production in Uganda by building resilient farming communities founded upon the empowerment of women and girls through the cultivation of passion fruit.

Miracle Ventures 

Write an Investor Overview document that summarizes the focus points of four social enterprises (Jibu, Divine Mercy, KadAfrica, SustainU) to help facilitate the deal flow process for venture capital firms.

A networking platform that seeks to connect volunteers with proven organizations, exclusively targeted towards college students. GiveGrowShare has three main objectives: to provide volunteers with an opportunity to find service programs, a platform to network with previous volunteers and a place to blog.

Ringleader Ventures 

Pitch impact investments to Ringleader Ventures, a traditional Venture Capital (VC) firm in Chicago, IL. Because they are a traditional VC firm, investments pitched to them will be finance-first impact investments.
